“I tell my students to not put blinders on their future," Itzhak Perlmansays. "There are so many opportunities in music to have a career that makes you happy, to make a life that makes you happy. That’s the important thing. You have to be imaginative as to what you do with your life. If you get a solo career, fine. If you cannot, there are other things that you can do, whether it’s chamber music, whether it’s teaching, whether it’s a little bit of both. The opportunities are great."
