▌ 臺南市美術館 Tainan Art Museum 榮譽董事長、資深藝術家 #陳輝東 於昨日（11/1）離世，享壽 87 歲。陳輝東曾是南美館最重要的催生推手，對臺南乃至於臺灣藝壇貢獻良多。

身為藝術家的陳輝東，從事藝術創作超過半個世紀，是臺灣西畫家代表人物之一，在臺灣美術史上有著重要的象徵意義，因此南美館也在 2021 年為陳輝東舉辦「美的探索－陳輝東個人創作展」，是其近年最重要的一檔個展。

美術館董事長趙卿惠表示，美術館在陳輝東老師的帶領之下，成立臺灣首座行政法人美術館，為世人立下典範，對臺南與臺灣的藝壇有卓越的貢獻，在卸下南美館首任董事長職務後擔任榮譽董事長，陳輝東仍持續為南美館的未來奔走努力，不僅扛起南美館的開創大業，更以他對美的探索且追求完美的信念，打造出一座屬於臺南獨有的藝術殿堂、傳予世代的美術館。
