Yesterday I received the exciting news from my dear friend and editor Gareth Richards that my English-Chinese graphic novel for children, The Red House, will be published by Gerakbudaya next month. Writing and illustrating a book is a labour of love and I am fortunate and delighted that this love was shared by Gareth and the team at Impress Creative & Editorial, Louane Chan Guegan, as well as Pak Chong and the people at Gerakbudaya.

昨天晚上我親愛的朋友和編輯Gareth Richards告訴我《紅房子》下個月由馬來西亞Gerakbudaya出版社出版. 這是關於東南亞和南亞的書, 所以很興奮在東南亞出版, 感謝Pak Chong以及Gerakbudaya出版社的工作人員! 在此特別感謝所有閱讀過初稿以及提供意見的人. 希望書下個月也會在台灣販售. (書的簡介在下面)

It's been quite a journey. A lot of publishers liked the book, but it either didn't fit with their lists or else they were offering a pittance. But Gareth and I persisted, and Pak Chong agreed to publish. Bravo! There are so many people to thank, and especially Eryn who co-edited, the Chinese editors Shannon Sun and Shih Ai-ning, Helena who did the initial layout, and Pi-I Chang of Element Plus who created the final design, as well as all those who read the manuscript as it was developing. It's a true team effort.

All those who read the book and provided comments my heartfelt thanks goes out to you all!
