台灣年輕的「統派」、李敖29歲的兒子李戡可為代表。他最近接受BBC訪問，他說父親遺願是：「中國統一我是看不到了，你要替我實現它。」他受父親的影響，仍然支持兩岸統一，但他自己已經沒辦法說服台灣人相信中國當局會信守承諾了。
李戡為了「成為祖國的一部份」而放棄台灣大學去北京大學就讀。在2018年父親死後，李敖的書大部份在中國被禁，只選擇他支持統一的言論而查禁他關於自由主義的著述，「你讓我怎麼相信萬一真的統一了，共產黨會遵守承諾？」「他們會跟你講出一套理由，說他們沒有背棄承諾，是因為你這個不對，那個不對，所以我們才需要改變。我過去對這種詭辯可能還會有一點相信，但是現在我100%不相信。……我覺得問題都出在共產黨，不是出在被它指控的人身上。」這段話值得細味。
