He draws on philosopher Walter Benjamin’s imagery to propose that temporal experience is something we can grip, turn and remould, closer to clay on a potter’s wheel than the linear river visualisation.
In the arts, time is something we can play with, using anticipation, gesture, rhythm and repetition to fracture its linear flow.
Time is not simply a background condition of our experience, but something we can use to sculpt and remake consciousness itself.

“For thousands of years, narrative art has illustrated our myths — the stories we believe that are not necessarily true, but that give us meaning, purpose and a sense of community,” Hobson said in a statement to The New York Times on Tuesday. “Our goal is to create a museum that celebrates illustrators and the art that shows us who we are.”
Critics have questioned whether the images have a thematic core beyond being fun and accessible. The museum has said, yes, there is, but there is also nothing wrong with being fun and accessible.

首檔展覽「螺旋・螺旋——忍不住一直轉」將於 3 月 28 日開館當天登場。展覽以「螺旋／旋轉」為主軸，從藝術、科學、科技、娛樂到傳統文化等多元角度切入，探討旋轉與循環如何存在於日常生活與自然世界之中。展出內容的尺度橫跨廣闊，從銀河的旋渦到指紋的紋路，並透過多樣的裝置與展示形式，呈現螺旋在自然與文化中的豐富樣貌。
