七月十六日下午，台灣ＩＢＭ宣布，新任總經理由黃慧珠接任，這是ＩＢＭ在台灣五十六年來的第二位女性總總理。......

個頭嬌小，聲音輕柔，但掩飾不了黃慧珠的旺盛企圖心。「對於公司訂的目標，Jennifer（黃慧珠英文名）使命必達，絕不打折扣，」長期與黃慧珠合作的資誠管理顧問執行董事劉鏡清觀察。......

一九八九年，黃慧珠加入台灣ＩＢＭ，一路從培訓實習生做起。
事實上，黃慧珠在念大學時，成績只是班上女生後段，但一出社會，她深刻體驗到競爭的殘酷，馬上扭轉心態，全力衝刺工作。

從來不服輸的黃慧珠，沒有理工背景，她卻靠著柔軟的身段，及不斷地研讀ＩＢＭ技術書籍，密集拜訪客戶的ＩＴ主管，仔細分析客戶採購需求，逐步修正合作模式，終於爭取到第一筆上億元的訂單，更贏得客戶的高度讚賞，讓男性為主的業務團隊折服。

從兒時開始，黃慧珠就透過海量閱讀，鍛鍊出精準的文筆，更使她分析事情時，多了果決與膽識，往往都可以看到事情背後的關鍵因素。「她很敢去『賭』各種可能性，很有膽識，」劉鏡清觀察，做業務不只是要以客為尊，更重要的是嘗試找出雙方合作的模式與議價的底線。

十三年內，黃慧珠從實習生，當上掌管ＩＢＭ營收一半的工商事業群總經理。但在兒女逐漸長大的過程裡，她選擇多陪孩子，轉任ＩＢＭ人力資源部副總。○八年更被挖角到信義房屋，擔任人資長，幫信義房屋建立起完整的人力資源培訓制度。

原本黃慧珠抱定要退休的人生規劃，但ＩＢＭ大中華區董事長錢大群ＤＣ，不斷地勸說她來接下總經理職務，激發了黃慧珠身為ＩＢＭ人的責任感，要帶領台灣ＩＢＭ團隊重返榮耀。......

一接任總經理，黃慧珠馬上召集所有主管開會，討論如何提升員工工作上的榮耀感，「我們希望形塑出結合個人成長與照顧家庭生活的幸福企業。」.......

每年，黃慧珠與先生都會帶家人回花蓮老家，這也是她鍛鍊小孩獨立的好時機。她寧可自己從台北開車到花蓮火車站接小孩，也要讓兒子自己獨立負責買火車票，帶堂弟妹搭火車到花蓮。
離開信義房屋後，黃慧珠為了激勵兒子考大學，和兒子PK考大學，報名考試。最後衝刺的三個月，每天早上九點，她與兒子兩人準時坐在住家附近的咖啡館，一起準備七月大學指考。........
