美國建築師協會（AIA）於2月10日公布2017年度因專業傑出表現獲選為該會極富聲望的學院院士名單：本所資深合夥人虞永威建築師獲選為美國建築師協會院士。
美國建築師協會院士是經過特別遴選，頒發給對建築與社會有卓越與顯著貢獻、以及在建築專業上有極致水準的會員。院士的榮譽不僅是對建築師個人成就的肯定，也彰顯了他們在對全美國建築專業及社會的貢獻。
虞永威建築師於1982加入AIA。三十五年來在美國、台灣及大中華區域的資深工作經驗及成就獲AIA院士遴選委員會肯定。2016年底由舊金山建築師協會分會推薦提名、蔡元良建築師擔任引薦人(Sponsor)，以「經營管理（Management）」類別傑出成就獲選為FAIA。
虞永威將參加今年四月在佛羅里達州-奧蘭多舉行的年會授證典禮。
The American Institute of Architects (AIA) has elevated the 2017 new Fellows on February 10th to its prestigious College of Fellows: Willy Yu, our Senior Partner, has been elected to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects (FAIA).
The Fellowship program was developed to elevate those architects who have made a significant contribution to architecture and society and who have achieved a standard of excellence in the profession. Election to fellowship not only recognizes the achievements of architects as individuals, but also their significant contribution to architecture and society on a national level.
Willy Yu joined the AIA in 1982. His abundant experiences and distinguished accomplishments in Taiwan, Greater China, and the United States over the past thirty –five years have been recognized by the AIA Jury of Fellows. In 2016, nominated by the AIA San Francisco Chapter and sponsored by Yuan L. Tsai, AIA, Willy Yu is elevated to the AIA’s College of Fellows by his extraordinary contribution in the Management category.
Willy Yu will join the investiture ceremony at the AIA Annual Conference that will be held in Orlando, Florida in April this year.
