Bessie Coleman (January 26, 1892 – April 30, 1926) was an American civil aviator. She was the first woman of African-Americandescent, and the first of Native American descent, to hold a pilot license.^[

时报在1985年注意到，“然而，在她去世前，科尔曼成为了许多年轻黑人女性的楷模，所以，飞行也在她们中间变得流行了起来”。
