來自於「When You Taught Me How to Dance」,
When you taught me how to dance
Years ago, with misty eyes
Every step and silent glance
Every move, a sweet surprise
Someone must have taught you well 一定有人教會了你
To beguile and to entrance
For that night you cast your spell
And you taught me how to dance
Like reflections in a lake
I recall what went before 我想起了往事
As I give, I'll learn to take 有施,才有得
And will be alone no more 而且不再覺得孤單
Other lights may light my way
I may even find romance
But I won't forget that night
When you taught me how to dance
Cold winds blow
But on those hills you'll find me
And I know 我知道
You're walking right behind me 你會在我身後伴隨我行
When you taught me how to dance
Years ago, with misty eyes
Every step and silent glance
Every move, a sweet surprise
Someone must have taught you well 一定有人教會了你
To beguile and to entrance
For that night you cast your spell
And you taught me how to dance

Back Story
There are good little bunnies like Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-tail. And then there’s Peter Rabbit.
The first book in the classic series by the English writer Beatrix Potter, above, was published on this day in 1902.
“The Tale of Peter Rabbit” began as a letter Potter wrote in 1893 to a sick 5 year old, with illustrations. Publishers turned it down but reversed themselves after Potter’s self-published version proved enchanting.
It has sold more than 45 million copies, been translated into 36 languages and recently became a film. First editions have sold for more than $50,000.
With her earnings from the series, Potter bought Hill Top Farm in England’s scenic Lake District, where, as a child, she had nurtured her love of nature drawings. (You can still visit.)
Over the years, Potter turned her attention to farming and conservation, buying land and winning prizes for sheep breeding. She also worked closely with Britain’s National Trust, which received 4,000 acres of land and 14 farms upon her death in 1943.
A 1979 Times article cited a Potter biographer who wrote that she “loved the lakes and saw only too clearly how hideously they were threatened by the exploiter and the jerrybuilder.”
Jenn Jett wrote today’s Back Story.
Outdoor Concerts? Uncovered Hair? Shimmying in Public? Is This Iran?
Young people across Iran have been leading a dramatic change in social mores in recent months. “We have a fearless young generation that is breaking taboos.”

“We need to feel happiness and joy,” said Parnia, a 26-year-old beauty specialist in an interview from Tehran, asking her last name not be published for fear of retribution. “I go to these concerts to listen to music — when I’m there, I don’t think of war or conflict, I am in the moment, enjoying the special night.”
In a desert near Isfahan, tour operators organize rave parties dancing around gigantic statutes and fire pits in the style of the Burning Man festival in Nevada. Tehran’s Grand Bazaar, known as a bastion of tradition, held a fashion show with women models sashaying down a red-carpet runway draped in fur coats and cashmere shawls. Some restaurants in Tehran quietly serve wine and mix a shot of vodka in cocktail orders.
- A Portfolio of Art Prints from the Original Line Blocks (1995): This limited edition set, published by Battledore Ltd., features 34 prints in brown ink on fine paper reproduced from the original line blocks made for the very first private edition of The Tale of Peter Rabbit in 1901. It comes in a cloth clamshell box and includes an introductory booklet by Maurice Sendak.
- Various 'Treasury' or 'Complete Tales' Books: Many publishers, such as Frederick Warne & Co. (now a division of Penguin Random House Children's), produce hardcover "treasuries" or complete collections of all 23 of Beatrix Potter's tales, often featuring the original color illustrations and tracing the history of her work.
- Museum Collections and Exhibitions: Major institutions like the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Morgan Library & Museum hold extensive archives of her original drawings, manuscripts, and "picture letters" (the illustrated letters where the Peter Rabbit stories originated), which are often showcased in exhibitions and accompanying publications.
