🇹🇼🇫🇮Last week, we had the honor of welcoming Rauno Sainio, the Finnish translator of Taiwan Travelogue, to the office for a meaningful exchange on culture and literature.
In addition to Taiwan Travelogue (Matkapäiväkirja Taiwanista), Rauno shared several other Taiwanese literary works that he has translated into Finnish, including The Ghost Town (Aavekaupunki), Stories of the Sahara (Tarinoita Saharasta), and Membranes (Kalvot). Through his translations, Taiwanese stories are able to cross the boundaries and reach a wider readership.
✨ During our conversation, we also discovered an interesting fact: the Finnish edition of Taiwan Travelogue is the first translation of the novel to be published in a member state of the European Union, making it a particularly meaningful milestone.
🍵🎶 In addition to presenting Taiwanese tea as a gift, Ambassador Lim exchanged signed works with Rauno as fellow cultural creators. From literature to music, Taiwan’s diverse and vibrant cultural heritage continues to reach and inspire audiences around the world.

上週很榮幸能在代表處接待《臺灣漫遊錄》芬蘭文版的譯者 Rauno Sainio，並透過此次機會進行文化的交流與連結。
除了《臺灣漫遊錄》（Matkapäiväkirja Taiwanista）外，Rauno 更與我們分享了多本由他翻譯的臺灣文學作品，包括《鬼地方》（Aavekaupunki）、《撒哈拉的故事》（Tarinoita Saharasta）以及《膜》（Kalvot），跨越語言的界線，將臺灣故事傳遞至更多讀者的視野中。
談話過程中更意外發現了一個有趣的小彩蛋：《臺灣漫遊錄》芬蘭文版是首個在歐盟成員國出版的譯本，格外具有紀念意義。
林大使除了致贈台灣茶葉外，也以同為創作者的身份與Rauno交換簽名作品，從文學到音樂，讓臺灣多元而豐富的文化魅力持續向外傳遞。

以「世界級重金屬歌手」享有盛名的台灣駐芬蘭大使林昶佐自我介紹時，只須說：
„Hi, I‘m Freddy.”
台灣駐歐盟兼駐比利時大使謝志偉只能如此自我介紹：
“Hi, he is Freddy - and I’m ready.”

Freddy今天來比利時的根特（Gent)為一場人權會議演講。
我們認識超過二十年了。當年我在台視主持「謝志偉嗆聲」時，他就是我第一個專訪的來賓。
那是時任台視總經理的江霞姊介紹的，她說：「志偉，這個年青人非常特別，有個性，更有台灣心！」
我特地從布魯塞爾趕去和他碰面，聊得非常盡興，也交換了外交工作的心得。
同時我也應會議主席之邀在晚餐時簡短致詞。
才陪芬蘭國會訪團赴台交流的Freddy就任不到九個月就已經征服當地各媒體，讓台灣到處曝光 ：
Make Taiwan visible！(讓台灣被看見！
台灣到處被看見，老共當然就到處去抗議，這就表示「中國管不到台灣！」，這就表示「台灣絕對不是中國的一部分！」
那，既然「台灣不是中國的一部分！」，那中國打台灣當然師出無名。
師出無名還想打，那就叫「侵略」。
既然是「侵略」，那「中國染指台灣就不可能是中國的家務事。」 - 此所以德國外長說了好幾次 （歐盟也曾表達如此看法 ）：聯合國憲章裏禁止以武力解決衝突的精神和原則也適用於台灣海峽！
所以「台灣被看見」是「台灣生死存亡」的關鍵。
中國沒招了，就指使台灣某些政黨作些讓國際誤以為「台灣人都是中國人」 的「滲透動作」。
中共要是真作到了這點，那解放軍若打台灣，北京就可以堂而皇之地說：「這是中國人的家務事！別的國家管不著。」
