三位知情人士對路透社透露，台灣半導體製造公司 #台積電正在與 #輝達(Nvidia）洽談，計劃在台積電美國亞利桑那州的新工廠生產其AI晶片 Blackwell。

消息人士表示，台積電已經在為明年年初開始生產做準備。

輝達的 #Blackwell 晶片於今年3月首次亮相，目前僅在台積電的台灣晶圓廠生產。據公司介紹，這款晶片在生成式 AI 和需要大幅運算能力的應用中需求旺盛，其執行任務（如為聊天機器人提供答案）的速度是此前晶片的30倍。

如果協議達成，將為台積電亞利桑那州廠增加一個重要客戶。該工廠計劃在明年開始量產。台積電和輝達拒絕置評。

其中兩位消息人士指出，蘋果公司和超微半導體公司（AMD）目前是亞利桑那工廠的客戶。

然而，儘管台積電計劃在亞利桑那州生產輝達Blackwell 晶片的前端製程，晶片仍需運回台灣封裝。消息人士稱，亞利桑那工廠不具備晶片封裝所需的CoWoS技術，而這對 Blackwell 晶片至關重要。台積電所有的 CoWoS 產能目前都集中在台灣。

作為全球最大的晶圓代工廠，台積電正在亞利桑那州投資數百億美元建設三座工廠。該項目獲得了美國政府的大量補貼，目的是推動半導體製造回流美國本土。
