Usually, the Hakone Open-Air Museum is visited as part of the Hakone Golden Route. This circular course will take you from Hakone Yumoto Station around to all of the various points of interest in the area. En route, you’ll make use of a train, a cable car, a ropeway, a PIRATE SHIP and finally a bus.
Seeing as you’ll want to also budget ample time for the Hakone Golden Route’s final attractions like Hakone Shrine and the Amazake Chaya, I am of the mind that the Hakone Open-Air Museum is best visited as a standalone stop on a different day.
Rather than try to cram the Hakone Open-Air Museum into the Hakone Golden Route, you’d be better served by coming half a day in advance. This way, you can enjoy the facility and a leisurely soak in one of Hakone’s many hot springs.
Though this does mean that you need to dedicate more than just a single day to Hakone, the region has so much to see and do that there really is no other recourse if you want to see it all. Rather than rush from spot to spot, budget enough time to give Hakone its due diligence.
Whether you heed my advice and do the Hakone Open-Air Museum on another day or not, know that you can save a lot of cash by purchasing the Hakone Free Pass (which can now easily be reserved online). It is crazy how amazing of a deal it is!

Among the major works of Bartolomé Estéban Murillo, in addition to the Prado Museum paintings illustrating the Foundation of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome, from 1665, there are the great cycles for the Capuchin convent in Seville, from 1665-1670 and for the church of 'Hospital of Charity, from 1670-1674. This painting, depicting Archangel Michael about to defeat the devil with a flaming sword, was part of the Capuchin cycle. The San Michele was probably located above the presbytery door at the end of the left aisle. Deposited in Cadiz in 1812, the oil on canvas was purchased in 1987 by the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna, where it is still preserved today.

The third and most famous woodcut from Dürer's series of illustrations for The Apocalypse, the Four Horsemen presents a dramatically distilled version of the passage from the Book of Revelation (6:1–8): "And I saw, and behold, a white horse, and its rider had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer. When he opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, 'Come!' And out came another horse, bright red; its rider was permitted to take peace from the earth, so that men should slay one another; and he was given a great sword. When he opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, 'Come!' And I saw, and behold, a black horse, and its rider had a balance in his hand; ... When he opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, 'Come!' And I saw, and behold, a pale horse, and its rider's name was Death, and Hades followed him; and they were given great power over a fourth of the earth; to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by wild beasts of the earth." Transforming what was a relatively staid and unthreatening image in earlier illustrated Bibles, Dürer injects motion and danger into this climactic moment through his subtle manipulation of the woodcut. The parallel lines across the image establish a basic middle tone against which the artist silhouettes and overlaps the powerful forms of the four horses and riders - from left to right, Death, Famine, War, and Plague - or Pestilence. Their volume and strong diagonal motion enhance the impact of the image, offering an eloquent demonstration of the masterful visual effects Dürer was able to create in this medium. 1498, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.

This beautiful, intricate sword-button from Cotgrave, Nottinghamshire, was once attached to an Anglo-Saxon sword-scabbard dating to the first half of the 7th century!
It is made of gold and cloisonné garnets and reveals an extremely high level of craftsmanship. Although small and incomplete, it serves as a particularly complex example of fine gold- and garnet-working.
You can see it on display in our England 400–1600 Gallery on the second floor.

另一個故事，發生在我去看的長安國小投開票所，那時有很多中老年人，也有一些穿著印有柯文哲LOGO的青年學生站在那裡監票。這時候，有一張蓋在6號選票上的印章帶有重影，這引起了同學們的異議，而在場的選務人員並不這樣認為。
就在這時，一位監票的女同學拿出中選會印發的指導手冊，認為根據認定標準這張應該算廢票。最後，經過討論，選務人員認定其為廢票，整個過程平和，沒有爭吵。 ----焦點評論：北京將失去台港一整代人（張可）

我沒太注意北市議員的選舉。今午看電視才知道出席政論節目的楊實秋先生落選。據某民進黨市議員說，楊清廉、敢言。楊提到國民黨修補族群分裂的做法之一是要放陳水扁，他說全世界總統貪污出事的很多，韓國更多，但是沒有那一國像台灣這樣關陳前總統6年半多的.....

楊實秋之前講他的北市長選戰觀察：柯P決定停止捐款並公布小額捐款名單：這作為比官方規定提早半年多，可能是政界超越藍綠所有候選人空前絕後的；上周日的市府前"愛-擁抱台灣"，楊在市議會全程看了，這是台灣選舉史上之最，甚至遠比2000年陳水扁的造勢晚會好得多多......

此次新書(林俊義《活出淋漓盡致的生命——林俊義回憶錄》)發表會可能有70人參加，估計賣出一百多本書。來者多半是林俊義生命中有緣的朋友，氣氛很溫馨。這是我第一次在公共場 合認識真誠的林俊義 (的確有淋漓盡致的生命)。林舉Karl Popper《開放社會及其敵人》要人戒除崇拜政治偉人的習慣，因為偉人造成重大的悲劇和損失......相信素人寫回憶錄的好處。舉Steve Jobs的Stay Hungary ,Stay Foolish 以及Amazon老闆Jeffrey P. Bezos與其外祖父母的一則著名的故事。

這篇感人的友情紀錄《逝者如斯》，原發表在2008年12月號的.《新地文學季刊‧唐文標專輯》 (頁272-294)。收入本書時，似乎只改章名為《一九七九，動盪美麗島：測記唐文標》 (頁102-140)，更清楚而具體。
我的這本.《新地文學季刊》是2009年許達然老師寄贈的，再次跟許老師說聲謝謝。我記得當時讀完時，鼓勵唐學姊多寫……。今天我更覺得這一篇，的確是昔日專輯的鎮卷之寶。
