In 1942, Marcelin Dumoulin, a 40-year-old shoemaker, and his wife Francine, a schoolteacher aged 37, left their village of Chandolin on foot for an excursion before disappearing, orphaning five sons and two daughters.

傳播甚廣的"雅爾塔新三巨頭"（New Yalta）畫作作者維塔利·柯馬爾（Vitaly Komar）說，自己看到了包括習近平、普京、特朗普在內的當代政客的共性。
1978年從前蘇聯輾轉來到紐約居住的柯馬爾3月接受BBC中文採訪時稱，自己秉承一貫的"概念折衷主義"來解讀全球當代政治家，結果發現，從後現代時期開始，許多當代政客都自視為著名的表演藝術家。
"但他們往往忽略了一點，和藝術上的色彩流動不同的是，政治要以生命和鮮血為代價，"他說。柯馬爾似乎在提醒人們注意，1974年，他和一位合作者曾被前蘇聯政府逮捕，他們倆以斯大林和列寧雙人像為原型創作的自畫像此後也被摧毀。
